Life Care Planning is an integral part of our holistic Elder Law practice. For some Elder Law attorneys, their practice consists primarily of asset protection in the face of nursing home expenses. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1999. Rep will help put your asset protection, estate planning and other legal matters in place to make your assets last for as long as possible. Rep is Board Certified in Elder Law by the Florida Bar Association and accredited by the Veterans Administration. He is a frequent lecturer on estate planning issues to the public and to other attorneys for continuing legal education (CLE) credits. Besides Board Certification, Rep is a member of Real Property and Probate section of the Florida Bar, the national Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA), Pinellas County Estate Planning Council, Suncoast Estate Planning Council and the estate planning elder law section of the Clearwater Bar Association.
Joy Catain, R.N., Elder Care Coordinator. Joy attended St. Petersburg College of Nursing, graduating "With Honors" and receiving her R.N. in 1991.In 2011, she completed the University of Florida's Life Care Planning for Elder Care Coordinators course, receiving 120 hours of instruction that included coursework on dietary needs for the elderly, public benefits, socialization concerns, family interaction, caregiver stress, respite services and more. As your Elder Care Coordinator, Joy has extensive knowledge about the costs, quality, and availability of resources in the community.
Joy started her career in Adult Oncology at Bayfront Medical Center and then went on to specialize in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at All Children's Hospital. She then worked as a R.N. Case Manager in Geriatric Home Care for both Morton Plant Hospital System and the Columbia Hospital System (now HCA). She became a Home Care Liaison, and for the last 10 plus years worked with many physicians, and with every hospital, skilled nursing facility, and Assisted Living facility in Pinellas County to coordinate care and services for her geriatric and disabled patients before joining our firm. With our ongoing relationships, the Elder Care Coordinator is only a phone call away if you have questions on the elder's care, current placement or other needs.
