Aging is a difficult and confusing process with diminishing health and decisions that come with it. Elder Law is the specialized legal arena that involves representing, counseling, and assisting seniors, people with disabilities, and families with a variety of legal issues. At DeLoach & Hofstra, our goal is simple: to provide the guidance you or a loved one needs to traverse and enjoy the “sunset” years. Our Elder Law practice consists of a holistic team representing legal, medical, and public benefits specialists all eager to help you effectively address all of your legal, medical, financial, social and family issues. As a Florida Bar Association Board Certified attorney in Elder Law, that is also accredited by the Veterans Administration, we provide assistance on the following topics:

Considering the very expensive costs of long-term care, our goal is to help protect your assets so you do not outlive your ability to pay for the care needed. We constantly update ourselves on the latest in Elder Law, including all of the government needs-based programs such as Medicaid, Diversion, Waiver and Veterans benefits and know when to apply for what program.

Every family deserves to have an estate plan, but not every family needs the same plan. We can help you and your family determine the best plan for your needs, using wills, revocable living trusts and special needs trusts that insure your wishes are met and your family's costs are minimized.

If you are ever incapacitated, you want to be certain your assets are protected and that the person you have designated makes critical health care decisions according to your instructions. Not all incapacity planning documents are created equally and may not fully protect you the way you intended. We can help make certain your legal documents make your wishes clear and that your assets remain safe.

Although you may have done Medicaid planning, the government may place a claim against your estate for monies spent for your care. We help prevent unnecessary loss of assets to the government and other creditors upon your death.

When appropriate and necessary, we apply for public benefits on your behalf and coordinate with the appropriate agency all the way through the eligibility determination. In our Medicaid planning, we work with the government and any case workers assigned to make sure you receive all the benefits to which you are entitled.

Elder law is more than just Medicaid planning. As part of our Life Care Planning practice, we will guide you and your loved ones through all of the twists and turns of dealing with the client's health and living issues.
We approach you and your family with care, compassion and hard work to maintain your dignity, protect your assets and provide help for you children. Rep DeLoach primarily represents elder law clients and their families in Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area. With every case, we are building a relationship of trust and confidence for your peace of mind and quality of life.
